This is a one bedroom apartment in Riverdale, NY that needed a space planning overhaul. Our main focus was to open up the crowded entry foyer and create a more open and welcoming space. In addition, the couple that lived here needed to occasionally work from home. In order to accommodate them, we designed a wall unit in the living room that fit the television as well as a desk area for their laptop and additional storage. The most important feature on this wall unit is the rounded end of the bookcase that helps to create a smooth flow from the entry into the living room. We also added a non-structural soffit between the living room and entry to help define the spaces further. The kitchen and bathroom were completely renovated as well.
